So Met Gala 2017 happened last Monday night and let me just say what a treat it was! I’m sure many fashionistas across the globe feel the same way too. Why? With all the A-list celebrities—you know, as in everyone who is anyone—attending the event, the more appropriate question, I think, should be: Why the hell not? Aside from the star power, I personally look forward to the event because of their themes. Marking the grand opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit, we expect celebrities to look their most daring, most original, and most elegant in the gala. You see, when it comes to the world of fashion, it’s definitely one of the most anticipated get-together every year. In other words, let’s just say that the Met Gala is the Super Bowl of fashion.
So yeah, it’s been what, a couple of weeks already since spring but it seems like Jack Frost ain’t done yet. At first, I was like: okay, I’m gonna write about summer… you know—the beach, bikinis, and getting that summer bod. But really, how can I? With a weather such as this, how can I be writing about getting a friggin’ tan?! So instead of writing about “Bikini Trends 2017”, I think I should stick to something more for “transitional weather”. Or what I like to call “spring-y”. You know, something more appropriate to the weather of late, say…layering. Of course I’m not talking about those heavy coats (which should be in storage by now, I hope) but something a bit lighter. Spring trenches actually come to mind. How about those denim jackets? Love them! Still a bit too nippy for you? I think light parkas should do the trick!
Okay, I know it’s too early to be writing about it but what can I say, I just can’t wait! Yup, in just a month or so, it’s time to party at Coachella once again! Set on April 14 to 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, the music festival will feature Bon Iver, The XX, Travis Scott, Steve Angelo, Glass Animals, Empire of the Sun, Future, DJ Snake, Lorde, Justice, and a whole lot more. But who’s going to headline this week-long music and arts festival this year? Ever heard of Radiohead? How about Kendrick Lamar? Still not impressed? And oh, I forgot to mention, Beyonce (yup, the queen herself!) will perform in her own friggin’ set as well! So yeah, did I mention it’s gonna be amazing?
Of course we all know that women love shoes… er, correction: are obsessed with shoes. How can we even resist those sexy stilettos and timeless pumps and those chic strappy sandals and cute ballet flats, right, ladies? With all these irresistible shoes, you’d think that these styles are enough, right? At first I thought, together with the comfy sneakers and the ever trusty wedges, I’d be contented with these styles. Well, I’ve been wrong before and I’m certainly wrong again this time because, well, mules came along.
