As we all know, the holidays are the perfect time to indulge. And because of that, the first things I usually do after the holidays is to check my weight. What with all the binge eating most of us have done during the holidays, once we step on the scale, I’m pretty sure that many of us will be a few pounds heavier. But don’t worry though, many of us are in the same situation as yours. If you feel like you’ve ate too much during the holidays, there’s nothing left to do now but work off those unwanted pounds. Here are some post-holidays weight-loss tips to help you get back on track:

Well, of course, after all that binge eating during the holidays, you have to set you goals into eating the right foods again. I’m not saying that you can’t eat fatty and sweet foods all year long. You can actually eat them occasionally and in moderation. But to be honest, if you really want to get the best results in the shortest possible time, the best thing to do is to get rid of all those holiday foods and stuff your fridge with healthy foods such as fruits, veggies, and lean meats. This way, you won’t be tempted to eat unhealthy foods. Aside from staying away from fatty and sweet foods, you should also load your body with an extra boost of vitamins and minerals. I suggest getting a juicer so you can extract essential nutrients from fruits and veggies while creating your own tasty drink.

Post-Holidays Weight-Loss Tip #2: Cardiovascular Workouts

Activities such as running, jogging, and walking are a great cardio workout. Not only will it help burn out the extra fats you’ve amassed during the holidays, doing cardio offers a lot of benefits, including:

  • Stronger heart and lungs.
  • Stronger bones.
  • Reduced stress.
  • Reduced risk of heart diseases and some types of cancers.
  • Relief from depression and anxiety.
  • And better sleep.
  • Tones muscles.

Yup, there are so many advantages you can get from doing cardiovascular exercises. The best thing about it is they are absolutely free! Unlike weight-training where it requires paying for a gym membership or buying an expensive gym equipment, doing cardio only requires you to get your heart pumping by running or walking at least 30 minutes and at least five times a week. Do this and you’ll get back your sizzling figure in no time.

However, if you really want to put emphasis in toning, sculpting, or even strengthening  your body, I highly recommend hitting the gym and pumping some weights. The best thing about this is you only have to do this two to three times a week. All you need is to create a weight training program to suit your wants and needs. Eat right and burn your calories right now if you really want to get rid of those extra pounds you got from the holidays. It’s quite easy if you set your mind into doing it. Like I said, the holidays are over and it’s time to move our asses and sizzling bodies back!
