Ageing Dilemma: How to Look Younger

We can’t stop time. That’s a fact of life. We just can’t turn back the hands of time and go back to when we still have our youthful looks. Unless we suddenly found the Fountain of Youth, we just have to accept that aging is a natural part of life. In fact, I really think that we shouldn’t just “accept” but actually cherish it. Why? Well, there are many things to be thankful about ageing. The fact that you’ve reached a certain age is something to be thankful about. And just think of the experiences (not to mention the knowledge) that comes along with all the years you’re here—isn’t that something to really be grateful about?

Yes, I really do think that we should change our outlook on getting older. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m just gonna let nature take its course, let go of myself, and look OLD. When I get to that point in my life when wrinkles and other ageing signs start to pop out, of course I’m gonna do something about them, and so should you. Nope, I’m not talking about taking a dip to the Fountain of Life or drinking a powerful elixir that would revive your youthful glow; I’m talking about eating right and balancing rest and exercise in my life. Aside from these, I think it would be helpful to know about these anti ageing makeup and skin care hacks:

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

You all probably know this already but it’s worth repeating over and over again. As we grow older, our skin tends to be dryer. This can ultimately cause our skin to look dull, and of course, make us look older than we really are. So, like we’ve always said, moisturize your skin as much as you can. It will not only make our skin hydrated, moisturizers also have vitamins and nutrients that will help make our skin look healthier.

Not Too Much

Okay, makeup can hide some ageing signs such as wrinkles and dark spots, but here’s the thing: Too much makeup can also make you look older. So take it easy on the products. Just enough (a dot of concealer, for instance) at the right spots can do enough to cover these ageing signs. Also, the more skin you can see, the better. Just keep your skin well-hydrated can freshen up our skin’s look and can actually make us look more youthful than a face dabbed with so much makeup.

The Lighter, The Better

Yes, choose lighter makeup colors. As most makeup pros would surely tell you, the lighter the skin looks, the younger you’ll look. That’s because lighter makeup colors can help create the illusion of a glowing complexion. And as you all know, glowing skin equals healthier skin equals youthful glow. Easy mathematical equation, right?

Focus on Your Eyes

The eyes are so powerful that they’re more than just “windows to our soul”. In fact, with the right know-how in applying shadow, mascara, liner, and brow, our eyes can actually turn back the clock—at least for a while. That’s because with the right application of eye makeup, it can help look our eyes look bigger and subsequently make us look younger.

Only Quality Products

This is a no-brainer, really, but I think it’s absolutely necessary since there are too many substandard products out there. Why would you even think of putting something you’re not really sure of on your face anyway? So please, if you’re going to use a product, make sure that it’s made from only top quality ingredients and made by trusted names.

See? It’s not that hard to make yourself look younger so why should I worry myself on getting older? With these simple skincare and makeup hacks, I’m sure I’ll go through ageing gracefully.
