Fitness 101: Tips & Tricks to a Healthier Lifestyle

We all know fitness is important. In fact, we all know that a healthier lifestyle is key to a better quality of life. So why is it such a bane for a lot of people? Well, for a lot of people, it is hard to find the time to do some workout at the gym. Between our hectic work and social lives, many find it hard to squeeze in exercise in their schedules. Aside from the usual “I don’t have the time” excuse, another reason I hear way too often is “I’m too tired to work out.”

Excuses, excuses, excuses!

To be honest, I find these reasons just mere (and lame, really) excuses. Adopting a healthier lifestyle is a matter of choice. As a matter of fact, I believe that it is possible even if you’re the busiest man/woman in the world. That is, if you just put your mind into it.¬†With proper motivation and the right attitude, getting fit is actually as easy as pie.

So the question still remains: why is it hard for a lot of people to make healthier decisions?

Admit it—the real reason why you can’t seem to adapt to a healthier lifestyle is laziness. Don’t worry, I won’t judge you. I, myself, am too lazy to exercise and too weak most of the time to avoid eating loads of junk foods. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t take physical fitness seriously. Like I said, if you just put your ‘mind’ into it, being fit is easy.

Fitness Tips for the ‘Lazy’ Ones

Okay, I admit that I’m one of those ‘lazy’ dudettes. So how do I keep myself fit? Here are some tips and tricks:

Don’t Eat Less; Eat Right

Many think that to lose weight, one should decrease his or her intake of food. That’s just not right. In fact, that’s the furthest thing from being healthy. You don’t have to starve yourself and deprive yourself of all the yummy treats just to be fit. If you just stick to eating a good balance of nutrient-rich food, you can actually eat as much as you want.

Find Healthy Alternatives to Your Favorite Snacks.

Like I said, food intake is just a matter of finding the right balance of nutrients in the food you eat. So if you love eating snacks, why don’t you just find a healthier alternative to your favorite snack? If you love french fries, for instance, baked potatoes are as yummy but with less grease.

Use Your Passion for Fashion as Motivation to Exercise.

Yes, I love’em! I get myself hyped on preparing to go to the gym or if I’m going running. And why not? I think gym clothes are sexy and I use my love for fashion to motivate me to exercise. If you’re still having a hard time motivating yourself to get your ass moving, just look to the celebrities you admire and try to emulate their workout routines. Believe me, it’s easy to find their routines over the Net. As for me, I always look up to model/actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—I mean, just look at how sexy and gorgeous she is , right?!

Just Do It!

Like I said, making healthy choices is easy if you put your mind into it. It doesn’t always have to be a a sudden life-changing decision. Just starting from minimal yet healthier life decisions—like walking instead of driving short distances or eating froyos rather than ice cream—can definitely do a lot for your health. Who knows, maybe you’ll even enjoy going to the gym more often once you get the hang of it. If you think about it, it’s actually pretty simple: either you do it and be sexy, or you don’t and get…well, you know what’ll happen. So what’s it gonna be for you?
