I really admire Cara Delevingne, Jennifer Connelly, and Brooke Shields for their oh so perfectly full brows. However, it seems that every time I try to go Cara, I end up looking more of senor Groucho! Ha-ha! I’m sure many would agree with me on this when I say that one of the hardest makeup to apply is the eyebrow. Sometimes they’re too thin, too dark, or just plain over-the-top (like Groucho Marx over-the-top) sorry to say.
Here’s a step by step guide to achieving that “Cara” brows:
Eyebrow Hack Step #1: Finding the Right Shape
Using a brush, find where your brows start by placing the brush along the side of your nose and the inner corner of your eye. Then angle the brush from the outside of your nose to the outer corner of your eye to find where your brow ends. Now, take a clean mascara brush and comb up and away. This will help you determine the actual length and shape of your brows.
Eyebrow Hack Step #2: Filling in Sparse Areas
Using your eyebrow pencil, use dash-like strokes to mimic your natural hairs. Make sure to fill in spaces light as if they’re barely there. Start from underneath the front of each brow and follow the natural shape, making sure that it’s darkest at the arch. Also, make sure that the color of the eyebrow pencil you’re using matches your brows’ color.
Eyebrow Hack Step #3: Blending
Use an angled brush and a similarly colored pressed powder to define the shape of your brows even more. Then, using a spoolie brush, blend out the color and soften the lines.
Eyebrow Hack Step #4: Clean Up & Highlight
Apply a light, matte eyeshadow underneath the brow to clean up and give the illusion of a more arched brow. Lastly, using a fluffy brush with a translucent powder, trace around the perimeter of the brows. This will make the edges look sharp and clean.
Voila! Cara Delevingne brows in four easy steps! Easy, right? Of course you probably wouldn’t get it right the first time but as they say: practice makes perfect, right? So get all your eyebrow tools ready and go practice. I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it in just a couple tries.
