Fashion Tips: Mastering the Model Off-Duty Look

Kate Moss, Adriana Lima, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, Kate Upton, Jessica Hart, and quite recently, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner—we just can’t get enough of them! And why not? They always look so amazing on the catwalk or on the red carpet, right?

But what I love the most about them aren’t seen in fashion shows and A-list parties. It’s their street styles (or what others call “model off-duty”) that really got me drawn to this fab bunch. With so many paparazzi lurking by  (trying to capture anything and everything these fashion icons are doing in photos), it’s no wonder these stylish ladies would want to look their best whenever they go out shopping or even while just doing some errands.

We’ve seen them countless times on magazines and on TV as they pound the pavement with their Jimmy Choo’s, Vera Wang tops, denim jackets, and ripped jeans, carrying their Alexander McQueen De Manta tote as if to say: “Yeah we look so damn good but we don’t care.”

So how can we be as effortlessly stylish as them whenever we go? No, we really don’t need to buy those uber expensive designer stuff, what we need are a bit of inspiration from these fashion goddesses and of course, a bit of imagination. Also, keep in mind that you can play around with these stuff—just a bit of variation (a different color, pattern, or material) here and there and you’ll surely have your own model off-duty look.

Take this example from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—it’s just a simple getup of ripped skinnies and a plain tee. What made the difference? It’s that great wool jacket and those fab brown boots, of course. She then finished it off with those sunnies and elegant totes and—boom!—instant fashionista!
